Choosing paint colours for your home can be a daunting task, as the color you choose will set the tone for the entire space and will have a big impact on the overall look and feel of your home. With so many options to choose from, it can be overwhelming to decide on the perfect shade. Here are some tips to help you make the best decision for your home.

Choosing Paint Colours.

  1. Consider the lighting in the room: The lighting in a room can greatly impact the appearance of a paint color. A color that looks beautiful in a well-lit room may appear dull or washed out in a room with poor lighting. It’s important to consider the natural light that the room receives and how it changes throughout the day before making a final decision.
  2. Take a look at your home’s architecture: The style and architecture of your home can help narrow down your color choices. Traditional homes often look best with more classic, neutral paint colors, while modern homes can handle bolder, brighter shades.
  3. Think about the purpose of the room: The function of the room should also be taken into consideration when choosing a paint color. A calming blue or green may be a good choice for a bedroom, while a bold red or yellow may be better suited for a kitchen or dining room.
  4. Look to your existing decor: If you already have furniture and decor in the room, consider how the paint color will complement or contrast with these items. Choosing a color that coordinates well with your existing decor can help create a cohesive look.
  5. Test out your choices: Once you’ve narrowed down your color choices, it’s a good idea to test out a few swatches before committing to a full paint job. Paint a small section of the wall and observe how the color looks at different times of day and in different lighting conditions.

Our hall and kitchen needed a serious makeover and Chris done a magnificent job and his work looks fabulous. Our tired hall was stripped of its old painted anaglypta and the walls sanded, lined and wallpapered. The wallpaper we choose looks brilliant and has transformed the hallway into a welcoming entrance. The kitchen looks like we have had a new one fitted. The cupboards were all painted and the walls and ceiling redecorated. It was great value for money. With an excellent result. We highly recommend Chris and you will not be disappointed.

We have been renovating our period property for some time now. Being new to the area we didn't have any contacts but took a leap of faith with Chris. We needed someone with the skill and experience to use traditional decorating methods such as lining walls and ceilings prior to decoration and papering. Stripping back the wood to original features etc. Chris has now completed the whole of the interior and exterior of our property. He has done a great job, he is reliable ,skilled and hardworking. I would recommend him without hesitation.
